LA based stand up comedian, storyteller, commercial + voice over actor, model & QUEER activist. She’s originally from Chicago where she started her acting + activism career. But the cold weather blew her to LA! She almost became a forensic psychologist but realized she’d rather joke about the dark things in life instead.
Julia prides herself on using her performances + modeling as a platform to create social and political awareness not only about the queer community but about our society at large. She models (because she loves it), but more importantly, wants to create more “femme visibility,” especially since that is a minority within a minority. She identifies more as a “humanist” than “feminist,”(currently), which definitely pushes the envelope in today’s cultural climate. She challenges the audience to look at her as a mirror of themselves (their beliefs, emotions, thoughts, etc. versus just slinging random jokes. She improvises all of her sets because her reading comprehension isn’t very good. Writing can be challenging for her, admittedly.
It is important to her to bring her vantage point alive with dynamic performance skills and intelligent humor. She owns the stage and captivates audiences everywhere. She’s the (lesbian) girl next door! Her humor is dark but her heart is warm.
